Features of Coating Falling Sand Abrasion Tester
This method tests coating abrasion resistance by allowing an abrasive medium to fall through a guide tube from a specified height onto a coated test panel until the substrate is exposed.
The abrasion resistance of the coating is expressed as the amount of material worn away per unit of film thickness.
The testing procedure using the falling-sand abrasion tester complies with the falling-sand method specified in ASTM D968-83 for testing the abrasion resistance of organic coatings.
It also meets the requirements for abrasion resistance testing of fluorocarbon coatings on aluminum profiles and sheets for architectural use, as stipulated in the construction industry standard JG/T 133-2000.
